Tapered shafts and speed dipping tubes

#1 Post by GB » Sat May 31, 2008 10:07 pm

I've been thinking of trying a dip tube with a speed gasket on it but I use tapered shafts - has anyone used the gaskets with tapered shafts? Did it matter which end went in first? Does the gasket spread the laquer too thin on the on the fat end of the shaft? Or am I overthinking the whole thing??

Appreciate any comments :?

Hey Gail,
Yep you're overthinking again, if you've got the proper tube and gaskets the hole will just close over where the arrows are thinner at the tapered end.

Thanks Sue - I just thought the pressure from the hole would be greater at the thick end but you guys do millions of these, so I feel better now!

Cheers, Gail :D
