rainy day blues

#1 Post by Buford » Mon Aug 07, 2006 10:21 pm

With all the talk of arrow making lately, I decided last weekend to put a wet, windy and generally miserable weekend to good use and made some arra's! :D

anyway....... allot of boredom and 2 days of rain can yield some OK results......
Vic Ash shafts from Forro, Feathers and nocks from Jeff, points from John McDonald, paints and sealants from Haymes. :P :D

Sorry for the size of the pic, still no photoshop reload.

You know, you can always tell if you're looking at a "special" set of arrows by comparing the crests.
It's very hard to make them almost identical. Buford, your's are pretty close to being identical.
Not a bad colour scheme either. 8)
I don't know how you get those pin stripes so neat.

Well done mate!!! :D

Mick
There is no use focusing on aiming if you don't execute the shot well enough to hit what your are aiming at.

Nice work Matt,
Ill have to have a try at that feather splicing some time.
Is there any particular way to do it or do you just cut the bits and put them in the clamp together?

thanks blokes,

butch,
With my current form, I think they would go sailin past.

Mick,
Trick photography mate. :P They ain't quite that sharp up close. :D

Jeff,
i was wonderin if'n you been a tryin to telamafone me, :D I've been doing allot of out of hours work lately.
If you can't get me, I'll call you if ya like?

Jeffro,
There is a couple of ways of going about, the method that gives the best results is cutting out a section off the parent quill and splice a
new colour section in............but I'm too freakin lazy to screw around with all that so yeah, i just butt em together. :D

Here's a link to a "How To" I did a while back, if you scroll to near the end it goes through cresting and splicing.
Just remember, it's just the way I do it, not the only way to do it.

Cheers All
Buford
