My latest Recurve

#1 Post by Muz1970 » Sun Jun 30, 2019 7:25 pm

Just a quick look at my latest recurve design. Not the best day here for photos so I'll have to try again when the sun shines.

Has a 20" riser with Sassafras and Acacia, and Jarrah, Blackbutt and Red River gum accents.

Nice work Muz, are the recurved tips semi working or static?

Sweet looking bows there Muz.
I like the look of the curves on both bows especially the bigger one with the pompom string silencers.
The handle on that one doesn't look as complicated ?
Congratulations. :Bow

Thanks guys, yeah the tips do open up slightly so I guess you'd call them semi static. Have thought about trying some tapers in there at glue up. I'm currently shooting my 630gn woods out of it at 170fps. Works out to be 12.3gn/# (51#@30"). About 10fps quicker than my longbow in the same poundage and arrows.

Yes the 2nd bow does have nice lines. Tad to heavy for me at the moment. Riser is simple but slightly to small a grip for me so next one will have a bigger riser. Shoots great though.

Cheers Muz

Well the sun finally came out for a couple of hours here yesterday. Took a couple of shots while having a shoot in the paddock.
