Homemade quiver

#1 Post by Forester » Mon Mar 21, 2016 9:07 pm

Hi all - here are a few photos of a quiver I made recently. The leather is from an old bag that I was given ages ago, and the buckle was salvaged from a broken halter. I have left the strap fairly long and put the buckle in so I can leave it long and wear it over my left shoulder at my right hip, or shorten it for use as a back quiver. I still haven't figured out which is better, but thought it best to leave my options open. The leather is doubled up for the bottom half and is quite stiff, but the top half is only single thickness and it is fairly flexible which makes it quite comfy to wear. The top rim is doubled over a piece of stainless steel wire to keep it stiff and open to slide the arrows down. The bottom is a piece of wood covered in leather both sides and glued in tight. Some rivets have been added where there were existing holes in the leather from when it was a bag to hide them and dress it up a bit. It is a bit rough, but it sure beats picking the arrows up off the ground ..

Good job! I think anyone would be proud to be using that at the range.
