Karri or Jarrah arrow shafts

#1 Post by Muz1970 » Sun Nov 16, 2014 7:22 pm

Anybody tried Karri or Jarrah for arrow shafts, not footings?

Looking at trying to cut some into shafts but require a heavy spine in 23/64 to suit my 31"draw and 70-80lbs that I shoot. Read some where on here they couldn't get stiff spines out of Jarrah.

Looking at local WA timbers at present but open to ideas. Got access to loads of Jarrah as I've got a mate who cuts, kilns floor boards.

Even if I can get the timber my mate can dry it for me.

Cheers Muz
