that will have to go on my 'wish list' as it seems to have potential for a few things i have in mind. Guess with shipping etc it would indeed be a little expensive, so would need ongoing use to be worth the outlay.

I would say yes, it is used a lot in the stabilising of timbers for knife handles and achieves great results, another one to look for is Norglass, also have been told a method by a guy who stabilizes his timbers using perspex believe it or not.

The knifemaker who owns the forge where I run my courses uses wood stabilised with cactus juice, though mostly it's actually done by a couple of the other knifemakers here.

It's a pretty special product. One of the guys took a log of palm from me to cut into chunks and stabilise for knife scales. I'm going to ask him for a block for risers and overlays. The guys here use some pretty sizable vacuum chambers, though probably not big enough for Roadie's back.

It increases the density of porous woods tremendously, and I imagine it's still very glueable.
