One for the little guy*(Video link added)*

#1 Post by cmoore » Sun Sep 28, 2014 11:40 am

Here is a little archery set I made for my stepson, he's almost 3 years old so hopefully he can start using it soon. Bow is 34" in length and made from osage, 2 layers of sinew on the back & has cow horn tip overlays.

Draws about 8#@14" and maxes out at a 15" draw, arrows are 22.5" & made from poplar. I must say that this thing shoots scary fast for it's size and would have no problems lopping an arrow 50 meters! so I'll have to teach him to be dam careful

That's awesome mate! I just made my 3 year old a similar sized longbow out of PVC. Yours looks much nicer

What an excellent result. 8)

Judging by the video the bow is certainly a good performer for its size, a few stuffed toys around the living room and the boy can have his own indoor 3D range.
