One for Jeff and Daryl

#1 Post by Flatliner » Thu Mar 06, 2014 11:12 pm

See I said I could make a bow with out mixing up the timbers.

This is what the guy wanted and I reckon it was a good call, a real Red tulip Oak show case, it's all from one very nice stick.

Timber: Red Tulip Oak and some red phenolic in the nock tips.

What can I say, but another fantastic bow from your fertile mind there Rob. Very smooth and highly attractive.

Well done, I often think of the old saying 'less is more'.

Is there a particular reason why you insert separate fade wedges rather than having them as part of the riser?

Thanks guys.

It's partly about timber conservation and partly about design consistency cause I use a template to form my wedges. I really don't think I could maintain that consistency shaping such a long tapered wedge free hand.

That's a real beauty Rob.

I do like that one!! It's subdued, yet still very spectacular in its own way. A lovely blend of similar colours.
There is no use focusing on aiming if you don't execute the shot well enough to hit what your are aiming at.

Very nice Rob, amazing how many different shades of the one colour there are in the one stick of timber. Excellent result!

Cheers..... Rod

Damn good gear mate!

Are you going to do a couple for Steve's shop??

I reckon they will be just what it needs
