New bow - flatline MC2
My new bow arrived yesterday, many thanks to Rob for a beautiful bow and excellent service, he is a pleasure to deal with.
The riser is beef wood and burdiken plumb, the limbs are red tulip oak and burdiken plumb. 80# & 28" and left handed. It's sweet to shoot and quite quick.

Hi Fraser with that weight in should reach 300 fps.Congrat Kingsley.
Re: New bow - flatline MC2
Hi Kingsley, i doesn't think it will get close to 300fps, if it does Rob will have cornered the market, around 200fps I would expect. Will be interesting to find outKingsley wrote:Hi Fraser with that weight in should reach 300 fps.Congrat Kingsley.

Nice one Fraser
I love the timbers Rob has available to choose from, Nice colours mate.
Thats a very nice poundage, you will get from 180-196 f/p/s depending on the weight of the arrow. The weight does go up mostly with the right spine to suit that's all, if you get a 550gn arrow I reckon 200 F/P/S is a walk in the park
You get another 3-4" Penetration on 3D targets, but larget dia arrows hang on like a Ba$tard You will get an extra work out getting em out of the targets

Re: New bow - flatline MC2
Hi Graydon, the timbers in the bow do come up nicely. It's going to be interesting to see how fast it is, it's visibly faster than one of my other bows that spits an arrow at 183fps. The draw wieght at my draw length is 95# and I'm using 900gr arrows, the penetration is pretty extreme, even more than my long bow of the same weight.

Thanks for the comments fellas.
Here are some pics that show the grain in the Beefwood a little better.
Cheers, Rob.
What the!!! Graydon at Frasers draw weight that makes that arrow 5.7 grains per pound of draw weight. Not really a good idea and outside the parameters setout in the warranty, hope you're not shooting arrows at that weight .hazard wrote: if you get a 550gn arrow I reckon 200 F/P/S is a walk in the park

Thats beautiful Rob. Did you use the Beefwood from your stores or do you have a source? Am I correct that you are no longer allowed to harvest it? cheers Steve

Thanks blokes,
Hey Steve, it's from my stock. I haven't heard that it's been put on the no-cut list,,, but then I have enough stock to last a little while. It would be a bummer if it is and I can't see why it's not exactly rare.
Yeah I like it too Bob, a bit difficult to work with but worth it.

Re: New bow - flatline MC2
Just looked up Beef wood to see if it on the no cut list, there are about five woods that are called Beef wood so could be any number of them I suppose. If you are seeing plenty then it probably isn't that one . Steve
