Another Border

#1 Post by Axe » Fri Aug 23, 2013 1:41 pm

Received this from Border Archery earlier this week...you can't have too many
Not my first Border Bow but it was my first dealing with Sid snr. (natures gentleman) a pleasure from start to finish and to top it off only 10 weeks from order to delivery
Fired a few shots, found the bow to be smooth to draw, and delivers a 650grn arrow very quickly without any hand shock

Specs:
Black Douglas Ultra
58" 60#@26"
Riser: 17" Shedua - Heritage Midnight - Shedua with horn overlay
Limbs:Hex6-HBB2 high performance composite core...Border's latest innovation

sweet! i ordered the exact same bow only 60" and 70#@28" with 19" riser.
looks great. can you post pics of the limb faces? i got mine with the carbon weave.

can't wait....

how did you go about poastage, did you get it sent in one parcel? i'm unsure of the goods value threshold before import duties are payable. do you have to pay any?

Very nice AXE, that Wolfs head is a nice touch. I also found Border, (both the Sid's and Ann) great to deal with. Very helpful and know what they are talking about, nothing's a problem.
Clinton Import Duty is payable if the item exceeds $1000, that includes shipping. If you get the limbs and the riser shipped separately, you'll dodge that.

Shooting lighter these days Axe? Beautiful bow mate, can't wait to see what you blood it on.

Thankyou all for the comments...

Clinton,
Had it shipped in one parcel, have not received any request for more $$ up to this point...I also paid total cost of bow and postage at time of order whilst our dollar was still at US.99 and .61 GBP

The limb faces are flat black

,
Craig,
No mate, this bow is for when I turn 90
I've always had a range of different poundage bows, still have the 65# & 72# Widows along with others...shooting the exact same arrows with this bow, with no noticeable difference in impact point using a 650 - 700grn arrow
Not only, but the Hex6 -HBB2 limb technology delivers performance that matches my heavier bows and if desired allows me to shoot much lighter arrows ie down to 420grns

got my border today. has same wood combo as axe's but with carbon weave on the limbs.

had a play this afternoon. it's 70#@28" by i draw about 26.5-27"". i'm guessing i'm holding 67#. i was shooting a 680gr arrow. so that's roughly 10gr/#of draw weight maybe a little more. this is the average of 14 shots. impressive in my oppinion.

Very nice Clinton, and great speed out of those BB2's, with your DL. I also shoot 10+gpp at my DL, but it is 29.75", I'll put the HEX6W's through the chrono, and see what I get.

Clinton
that is a hell of a lot of momentum!

try and take shots with a Sand dune behind the animal so you can find the arrow without walking 300m

cheers
