Norseman Bamboo Backed Bow.

Hi guys,

Here are a few pictures on my new Norseman Bamboo Backed Bow... 8)

Let me just say... that this bow is quickly becoming my favourite bow to shoot and hunt with...! :mrgreen:

It is just one of those bows that you can just pick up and shoot arrows exactly where you want them too go... :biggrin:

This bow that Nick has built for me is absolutely beautiful... Whisper quiet and sends a heavy arrow down range with great authority...

The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is no where as important as being able to place it in the correct spot....!

Looks like a beauty Guy. Is there a lamination of Osage on the belly side over a thicker core of osage? Steve

Yep this bow is a real corker.. It totally shoots as good as it looks.. Hopefully I can deck some more game with it soon.. 8)

Hi Steve, Yes mate it does have an extra lamination of osage on the belly... Nick called me and said that it came out a little under the poundage he was hoping for.. He offered to build me another or laminate an extra piece of osage to bump up the weight...

Yep, very pretty looking bow. Does this mean you'll be shooting longbow at the next Wiseman's etc?

Maybe, one of these days, I'll nock up some arrows to go with it for you. Kind of bow that would look good with yellow-themed arrows of some sort I would think.

what a beautiful bow. I dont know a heck of a lot about tillering bows but your bow looks as perfect as it gets

Yeah.. its a nice look having the contrast between the two pieces of osage... its funny how timbers from different regions vary so much.

Hi Andy,

Yes mate, ill be shooting the bamboo backed bow at Robs shoot.. cant wait for it to be honest... :mrgreen:

Arrows sound good mate, but I've just received some shafts from John McDonald day before yesterday... Your arrows are a work of art mate and I will get some off you for the next new bow... 8)

That is one beautifull bow, your score for the day did it justice. When you unstrung it there looked to be little or no string follow at all. Respectfully you have to admire Nicks ability to put a long bow together.

Echo everyone elses comment bloody nice bow i notice though that there is no reiforcing at the limb tips / string nock.
What strings do you use on it; i assume not fast flyte or dyneema.
What arrows do you use ?

Ian,

A properly made string of Dyna Flight, Fast Flight etc wouldn't hurt the bow one bit IMO. We have used them on our self bows with no tip overlays whatsoever for years with no sign of any damage.
