Sanding Blocks.

#1 Post by greybeard » Sun Jun 09, 2013 12:15 pm

For those who have not tried them I have found these blocks work well for final sanding of both wooden and glass laminated bows prior to applying the clear finish.

The foam core is relatively hard yet flexible enough to get into shaped risers and tips.

They cost about $2.30 [which may seem expensive] at the local hardware but I believe that the finished result and time saved justifies the price.

These are great. You can also get them in 24 packs, with eight of each grade, for about $12.

They also work quite well with sandpaper wrapped around them too. Still flexible and easy to control.

I have used these in the past too with good results. There are also mini ones (used for polishing fingernails..dont ask how I know that) which are good for very fine work(bone nock ends)

there is of course my patented pool noodle cut to shape, dble sided tape and sandpaper technique :)
