80's 'Razorback' recurve? One for the historians

Where to source materials etc. Also the place to show off your new bow or quiver etc.... Making things belongs in Traditional Crafts.

Do you know which Aussie bow maker made that bow Jason? I was trying to remember who was making recurves back then. I was thinking maybe John Perks. :confused:

Bob,

My mate Grant McDonald made longbows under the name of 'Razorback Longbows' but he never made recurves. It would be good to find out who made this bow so please do ask your mate.

Thanks for the update Jason. I have never heard of him. It would be good if someone on here did know of him and could give us a bit of history about him. It is always good to find out about our Aussie Bowhunting history.

My mate Dave has a Razorback recurve, about 55lb, hanging in his shed. It has started to delaminate, but is a special piece of Australian history.
It's the great, big, broad land 'way up yonder,
It's the forests where silence has lease;
It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder,
It's the stillness that fills me with peace.

Hi Jeff,
I had a talk to Alf.
He said he would give me his details about his archery career and bow making when I see him again.
Alf lives in unanderra.
I got your PM thanks Jeff.

That is excellent news mate. It will be great to learn about Alf and his bows. Too much of our Aussie Bowhunting & Archery history goes unrecorded and is therefore lost. :sad:
