Resurection bow
Had a request from a friend to build a set of longbow limbs for an old recurve riser he had. It has been a tough challenge to get everything to fit when working with a completed riser. He wanted it to be 60" n2n and 50# at 29" draw. I spent a lot of time working with this limb design using Supertiller (thanks Alan!) before I started building the limbs.
Here's what the riser looked like when I got it. Thankfully I was able to resurrect it.
Here's how it turned out. I had to narrow the limb pads from 1 3/4" to 1 1/8" but it didn't seem to ruin the line of the riser.
It ended up at 50# @ 29" and 60" n2n. This project helped keep me motivated during the cancer treatments and has meant a lot to me.

The veneer is ash olive burl. Here's a pic of the sheet that I got from the http://www.theveneerstore.com/
The sheet was rough and had to be sanded down then glued to a thin lam of actionboo so the face side could be sanded smooth. These veneers are sheared off a large block of wood so they aren't smooth like what you get from Kenny McKensie. Wild looking wood though.

Very nice work Ben.
The restored riser looks like new and it blends in with the limbs.

Unreal mate! Some very fine work to bring that bow back to life, the owner must be quite chuffed. I hope your treatments are going well and I wish you all the best for the future.
