For those who make bows, I have made contact with a chap in Hobart who harvests, seasons and prepares Tasmanian minor species timbers for sale. He dressed some sawn boards which I purchased from one of the timber yards in Hobart and when I saw his stock (which is huge), I purchased some woods which are not commercially available.
The woods he dressed for me are the Myrtle, Blackwood, Celery Top Pine and the Blackheart Sassafrass. He carries these woods in stock. The woods I purchase from him are the Mountain Tea Tree and the Horizontal Scrub.
He is willing to discuss supplying bowyers (or anyone else with an interest in fine timbers) with the timbers in my personal gallery. Here is the link:

He also has some other fairly rare local timbers and some timbers such as Myrtle with very rare colour and figure.
His name is Don Dickinson and he can be contacted by phone at (03) 6223 4831.
