Gamegetter shafts

#1 Post by Wolfgang D » Mon Feb 15, 2010 5:37 pm

just wondering if anyone would know where I could get some gamegatter shafts. I had seven 2016 shafts and am in need of some more... :oops:
I have found they shoot really well from my bow and would like to 'stock up'... if you know what I mean :D
any ideas of where to source would be greatly appreciated...

Cheers, Wolfgang

Hi wolfgangD, Arrows are pretty good value at most retailers at the moment, you should be able to get them from most retailers without trouble. Or were you after second hand shafts? Steve

I had a look at abbey archery and I am still not sure about their sizes as I am not very familliar with 'grains' could someone please help me to understand how grains are compared with grams and how to convert it... :shock:
Blu dog, I would be happy to have second hand shafts... they're straight :lol: .

I'm pretty sure 7000 grains equals one pound and 2.212 pounds equals 1 kilogram. You should be able to work it out from that. I don't know of any easier to use conversions.

There is no use focusing on aiming if you don't execute the shot well enough to hit what your are aiming at.

Hi WolfgangD, above is a shaft selector for Easton arrows.
The grain reference is GPI (grains per inch of shaft length) so a 28" shaft weighing 10gr/inch should weigh 280grains before your point is added.
The marking has gone from 2016 which is the shaft wall thickness and diameter to a deflection number of 500 which seems to be the way of the future.
Have a play with the chart linked and see if you can get it :) . Steve

wolf,
1gram(g) = 15.4324 grains(gr)

so

10g = 154.324gr
25g = 385.81gr
30g = 462.972gr
35g = 540.134gr
40g = 617.296gr
45g = 694.458gr
50g = 771.62gr
55g = 848.782gr
...otis...

eBay always has Gamegetters and a electronic scale will set you back about thirty bucks...
