couple of static tip curves.
Few shots here of couple bows made recently. One was where intended owner had to opt out due to sudden changed circumstances, other is a bow that missed target weight so both are available, although heavier bow is earmarked to go south for evaluation trial with group of dedicated hunters.first shot shows both bows, with one on left Riser is Red Palm/ burgundy Futurewood and belly lams of black palm.It is 75#@ 28'' and 58''AMO. Second bow is 55#@ 28'', also 58'' and has a riser of black wattle/ celery top accents.White glass on belly.

Nice work Bob, very symmetrical overlay you got there, that can be hard to do so well done. Ah,, what is future wood?

Bloody nice Bows Bob, you have it well sorted now Mate. The fake Snake, where do you get it from ? Spotlight don't have the Print I was using any more and the stuff I find on EBay is not as good.

thanks wayno appreciate your comments.
future wood is a material Bear Archery have used for years in their curves. It is a USA domestic hardwood that has been impregnated with resins and dyes under vacuum press, result is very strong, very stable and great working blocks.comes in vaious colours like burgundy cocobollo etc.Flatliner wrote:Nice work Bob, very symmetrical overlay you got there, that can be hard to do so well done. Re: couple of static tip curves.
I had wondered if you where using the American Fake Snake Bob, way to rich for my liking. I got hold of this from China off EBay

It looks nice enough but is not cloth but a type of Plastic Film. It should glue on nice enough with Epoxy and the pattern is wide enough and duplicated so you could cut the strip in half lengthwise and use one Roll per Bow. No doubt you'll see me with it glued on a Bow before too long and I'll let you know how it goes as $100 for a roll of Cloth is more than a bit rich.
regards Perry

Re: couple of static tip curves.
that looks interesting Perry! Only drawback even if a small one is the length at 90cm. Be keen to see it, might even send for a couple myself to check them out.

Re: couple of static tip curves.
Fine looking bows, how do they perform?
Re: couple of static tip curves.
thanks Ben. Can't give you any figures as my chrono is out of action, but 'gut feeling' is very well.Being a static tip type the power does come on early and they smack an arrow out , and I'm happy with performance.
