i'm in the running for a new pair of binos. i want them for hunting around here and back in open country in victoria and southern NSW.

-waterproof and fogproof are both required.
-i don't want compact ones.
-something in the 8x42 range or close to.
-i can only spend upto about $300.

what are some suggestions for this price bracket.

or if someone wishes to buy me a pair of Steiner Peregrine 8.5x50's, please do not hesitate!

thanks

thanks steve i'll check out that thread.

thanks piggy, i am leaning that way, as the they are apparently better in low light, and the nikon have some problems with eye cups falling off.

thanks
