Camo for arid grassy flats

Any camping and hunting gear that doesn't fall directly under the Traditional banner, but is complementary to what we do: tents, stoves, 4 wheel drives & tyres, wearable gear etc.

Camo for arid grassy flats

#1 Post by Hood » Sun Oct 24, 2004 8:25 am

Whats the best camo for arid grassy flats?
I have a pair of light creamy/beige cargo pants and a similar colour long sleave top, and want to add some camo colour to it to break up my out line. Any ideas as to pattern to use and colours???

I have slid on my guts to within 50mtrs of fallow wearing an Auscam shirt and green moleskins. I didn't try to get closer because there was no need (I was hunting with a 45.70) so I don't know if I could have.
But if you are after a good grassland camo you could do worse than Naturalgear.

You already have the shade/color matched, now break it up

You already look like dry grass, now you need to break up your outline. To do that just add some blobs and stripes like you would see on either ASAT tan or Predator Fall Brown.

the advantage wetlands or fall flight camo is good I use it in the top end and it dissapears in the grass or treeline, pretty pricey though but good quality.

Hey Mick, you better not wear it in October at the big hunt, someone might try tying their tent guy rope to you.

Seriously mate you should literally disappear and melt into the foliage.

There is no use focusing on aiming if you don't execute the shot well enough to hit what your are aiming at.

Well It came in the mail today and boy am I happy with it can't wait to try it out ASAP. It can be worn over your winter gear to stay worm and toasty and then can be worn over shorts and t-shirt in summer to keep cool. Best of both worlds really. :P
