Some wisdom from Fred Bear...

A fellow on TradGang posted this link up, and I thought it was well-worth the sharing here:

Cheers,

It's the great, big, broad land 'way up yonder,
It's the forests where silence has lease;
It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder,
It's the stillness that fills me with peace.

What a great philosophy on hunting!...one that I've tried to stick with.

My number of kills with the bow are still quite limited, but the experiences that I've had in the bush - spending time in this great country of ours are both numerous and memorable!
The best trophies I can hope to acquire as a husband, father, friend or hunter are MEMORIES!
They will travel with me wherever life's path leads...

Thanks Ben, I haven't seen that footage before. It is good advice and I think Fred Bear wrote something very similar in one of his books. I think one of the members on here has it as his signature.

Yep. When I read that quote it just seemed to fit my outlook on what hunting in any form is all about. It should always be about the journey I reckon.

Yep, a lot of truth in that.
