The national handgun buyback may be extended Police Minister Tony
McGrady told State Parliament yesterday. Mr McGrady said the federal
government would seek the extension, "because some of the other states
have not yet met the standards that Queensland has." Despite questioning
from One Nation MLA Ross Lee Long, Mr McGrady was unable to say how many handguns would be forfeited during the amnesty
