On Friday 25 October 2013, the Minister for Primary Industries published her intention to re-delcare 358 NSW State forests. More information is available on the NSW Department of Primary Industries website http://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/biosecurity/f ... clarations

That is good news and a step in the right direction. Let's hope all those forests will be declared open for hunting. Let's also hope that the old blackmail licensing system will be upgraded so that all legal hunters are eligible to get a license and not just those who belong to certain clubs or associations. :x

Evening All.
"The 12 reserves to be included in the trial are in regional NSW, where pest animals are a widespread problem and firearms are already widely used as a method for control," Ms Parker said.

"(The trial) will not operate during school holidays or at night, it won't involve dogs, bows or black powder muskets."

Hunters involved in the program will have to be aged over 18, supervised by national parks staff and required to have professional skills and experience.

Is this the same thing???

That is in relation to National Parks Grahame and not the Forestries. In reality the National Park proposal seems to have nothing to do with hunting but all to do with just a culling program.

I doubt if the current situation is the result of bureaucracy. It is more likely the result of the government-of-the-day trying to please a wide range of pressure groups/stakeholders by surrendering a little bit to each. Expectations are not high of the final result pleasing anyone. Note the aim of most politicians is to be re-elected and thus they will try to please everyone or at least those who may be a slim chance of a vote.
