Breakin at HVTA

#1 Post by trish » Sat Dec 17, 2011 7:40 pm

Evening All

On Wednesday HVTA received the news that we were broken into...not happy.

Between Tuesday morning & Wednesday morning, our club was broken into. The persons must of had some knowledge of our security & also knew what we had in lock up. These people must of had prior knowledge of where items were locked up. Not saying that it was an inside job.....but these people may have visited the club at some time or other.....

What I could see at the time, the thieves took our newly purchased Generator, almost all our club bows, a water pump & P.A System etc..

The thieves used Oxy torches so this means they knew what to bring along to breakin...
Thankfully, our club has Property insurance..

If anyone hears of anything regarding the breakin...PLEASE contact me through this thread.

PS.... Merry Xmas to all

So we are going to have to keep an eye out for Black Market sales at pubs and the likes for bows and stuff.

Pass it around and lets get these ba$tards :x

Trish what sort of Generator was it, small, big or large and was it easily transportable. Club Bows all sorts anf distingusing marks on them to identify them. They certainly seemed to know what they wanted. Hope the Mongrells are caught soon. This is not good news. But apart from that MERRY CHRISTMAS to All at HVTA. Cheers Roadie.

Roadie

It was a TH6 Honda only purchased last month for $1700

Takes 2 to move it.

The club bows had HVTA & a number written in black marker on them

Arrow's all white feathers, low poundage.

The fibreglass bows were still in their package, light poundage,,recurves mainly A to Z's brand.

Bloody scumbags, low enough to parachute of a black snakes guts. Hope they get caught and meet a magistrate who knows how to dish it out to lowlifes. Nothing worse than thieving rats.

Sorry to hear about this. As you say, it sounds like they knew what they were after.

There seems to be a lot of this going around. Of late ABA clubs at Orange, Forbes and most recently Wagga Wagga have been broken into and had stuff stolen - Wagga Wagga only a couple of days ago.

Not trad gear, but Wagga Wagga had several Genesis bows taken: 1 x orange, 1 x red, 1 x yellow, 1 x blue, 1 x camo and 1 x green LH. Also and unknown number of arrows were taken.

Please keep yours eyes open for them. Anything we can do to nail the scum will make the world a better place.

Sorry to hear this Trish. Mountain Archers have been done a number of times. I cannot abide a tea leaf especially when they are really stealing gear meant for kids enjoyment. Pity the rat bags cannot put so much effort into having real lives.

As you say "Of late ABA clubs at Orange, Forbes and most recently Wagga Wagga have been broken into and had stuff stolen - Wagga Wagga only a couple of days ago."
There have been a number of other club break ins at Geelong, Queanbeyan.

If the police were advised of all these perhaps a comparison of attendance lists with cross reference to those with recorded history might pin point the bad guys.

OK.....sounds like all Archery clubs are being being broken into.

Is someone starting up a new club??? ( ) ....OR is it just bad luck...I guess the latter.

Kev's comments show that the problem is more widespread and frequent than most of us would have realised.

So far these thefts would probably have been treated as individual, local, one-off incidents with little chance of the villains being caught.

It's hard to imagine that just by sheer chance, a series of archery clubs have been broken into by completely different groups of thieves within such a short time frame. It sounds as if a certain amount of inside knowledge may be involved in some of these thefts. That is not meant to suggest it was club members but it seems as if some low-life people have become aware of the vulnerability of our archery clubs.

Regards
Bob

Today I called the police to add items to my earlier report.....would you believe, they had 3 reports

of breakins on record.......in the last week.....

something fishy goin' on

Please let all clubs be made aware of these breakins.....and to keep an eye out on cheap bows etc.

In the end, it will be some uneducated (not necessarilly) person or persons that received stollen bows etc & cause injury to humans or animals & once again the topic of banning or licencing bows will be in the news again.
