Moreton, what you describe is a common issue on internet fora.
Edit: Admittedly I'm new, but I actually think the discussions on these boards are generally quite civilised. You should see the carry-on that regularly occurs on dog enthusiast fora!

"Fora"! Of course, the plural of forum! Well done, Longclaw!
Lately, if life were treating me any better, I'd be suspicious of it's motives!

Good for you Moreton. Instead of engaging in the discussion you instead find the time to write about the people having the discussion. Does it make you feel better?

morton,I find it fascinating that there are people, allegedly adults at that, who just can't seem to bring themselves to use the phrase "Fair enough mate, you're entitled to your opinion. Doesn't fit with mine, but that's ok, we all have our own perspectives." ? Maybe the option just hasn't occurred to them?
i must agree. and a phrase i like to say to people who have a different opinion to me, mainly to annoy them, is,
'your entitled to your opinion...even if it is wrong'.
really tends to get on the nerves of the like you are talking about.

Admin has locoked this thread as it has long since departed from the the original topic of the thread and gone down the path of personal acrimony.
