Hanging on for dear life.

#1 Post by Hood » Thu Jul 12, 2007 8:46 pm

Well I have spent the last 3 days with the wife in and out of hospital with complications with her pregnancy.

Bubs is not progressing as he should be with his growth for his age.
He is 23 weeks old but is only the size of a 20 weeker.
On top of that
Jo is ment to have 20 units of emnyotic (sp) fluid for bubs to splash around in.....BUT she has only got 9.5 units of fluid which is only just enough for him.
And on top of that again.
The placenta is laying to low in the womb and is showing signs of pulling away from the wall of the womb.
Which if it does Jo will hemorage and it could be fatal for mum and bubs if that happens.:o
The Doc. told us with out having to say to much that bubs will not go full term and will end up being a prem.
As to how prem we're not sure.
They atleast want bubs to get to 25-26 weeks at the worst. As anything before then........................well lets not go there.

So I'm now offically putting of ALL hunting (not that I've done much this year:rolleyes:)until after bubs is born, fit, health and at home.

So I ask that you all (religious or not) keep us in your thoughts and prayers for a good out come in this sticky situation.

So happy hunting to you all and I'll keep you informed on the progress of the little hunter in waiting as things progress.

Cheers
Michael:cool:

Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers.

We didnt' get much sleep last night, what with our minds working over time with a zillion diferent thoughts and questions.
And work today just seemed to take forever to get to the end of the day, I don't think I even did a 1/4 of the amount of work I normaly do in one day.
(thankfuly the Boss is understanding and supportive of our situation)

We have had so many people ringing to offer their prayers and help if we need it. All of which are muchly appreciated and needed.

Jo did a lot of searching on the net today in regard to the lack of emnyotic (sp) fluid and the effects of not having enough. Not looking good:( Now we know why the Doc's want to take him as soon as it's safe to do so, as it will be better for him health and physicaly wise.

It's very very scary to know what the possible out come for both mum and bubs could be.
BUT
We believe in miracles especialy after being told we'd never have kids and then Bella came along.
So I'd say that SPUD is gonna be just fine if Bella is anything to go by.:D

So for now all your thoughts and well wishes and prayers are very much appreciated by us all here.

Thankyou

Michael, Jo, Bella and SPUD

all of us send a great wave of support even if we can not be there with you, your personal love and devotion is all that girl of yours needs right now, the rest is left to your trust & belief in the professional help she has to aid her there through her trying time...

GOOD NEWS

#15 Post by Hood » Wed Aug 01, 2007 8:46 pm

Just an update for you all.

We recieved some much needed good news on Monday.
Although not totaly out of trouble yet.

BUT

Both Jo and SPUD are doing well.
Jo went to the Doc on Monday after having a scan last Thursday.

They don't know why and can't even begin to explain how but the embryotic fluid levels have near on doubled in 2 weeks going from 9.5 to 16.5 units in that time:o
They said that that is unheard of.
I know all to well how it happened. There is someone watching over Jo and SPUD. Amen to that brother.:D

Spud is still behind in his size at the moment but is still growing proportional to how far he is behind. So for now he's staying put now that his swimming pool has been topped up a bit.

Jo is still on light duties and bed rest.

The doctor is now saying that unless Jo has a major bleed or something else happens that there is no reason why SPUD can't go full term now due to the fluid increase.:D

Just need to monitor his growth over the next few weeks to make sure all is still going well.

So the stress levels have dropped significantly here in the past couple of days.

We'd like to say thankyou to one and all for your words of encouragement and prayers in the past few weeks.

Although not out of the woods yet things are looking a darn sight better now then a week or two ago.

Cheers
Mick

Mornin' Mick,

I apologize for just now viewing this... not that my particular pleadings with the King would have had any greater effect than those which have already moved Him.

Prayers... thoughts... and if you need to gab, gasp, or just sit silent, knowing there's someone on the other end... simply give a shout. I've walked those halls (had a leukemia scare with my first-borne, and other things that go 'bump' in the night).

Just PM me your number if that should ever cross your mind... I'll call on my dime.

Mick,

Don't be too surprised at the good news. In the Bible, James 5:16 tells us that "The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective". During the tough times, I also console myself with the fact that the things of life are too small to have impact on the plans God has for us. There are great plans for all of us, including your little one.

Still keeping you in my prayers.

Steve

Sorry, I mucked up the first post some how and it never appeared. The gist of it is that We are saddened that you are having these problems and we are proud to know a person that God thinks so highly of that He would present them with such a challenge. God is fair and just and being so, he would never present us a burden that we were not capable of bearing. You are in our prayers my friend.

Just to let you know Mick, that although your post is not at the top of the leader board, that many of us are still thinking of your situation and keeping you in our prayers.

I hope that "no news is good news"
