Wanted: Suggestions to Promote Ozbow!

General discussions. Politics, scuttlebutt, whatever: you're getting married, changing jobs, got a gripe or a compliment, dying to get out with the bow etc.....

Wanted: Suggestions to Promote Ozbow!

#1 Post by erron » Tue Aug 12, 2003 8:51 pm

What do you think are good ways to promote this site, especially with a view to getting people to register, and keep posting?

One or two ideas I've been tossing around:

1) Bumper sticker?

2) Advertising in Archery Action? This is expensive, and so, couldn't happen for a while yet anyway.

Are there any other cheap ways you know of?

thanks,

Erron

I like the idea of bumper stickers...I know where you can get them done for free too... ;)

What about a general flyer that can be stuck on notice boards at clubs around the place. That should generate some new members. I know that the traditional way is certainly making a comeback from what I am seeing. 4 people turned up last weekend with recurves & longbows and another 2 blokes were looking for gear too.

Good point guy: I suppose I'd better get working on the logo to incorporate into both flyer and bumper sticker.

thanks,

Erron

No problems my good friend.

I have a free day today and the vinyl cutter is free also. Let me know if you come up with anything and I can do some samples and get them in the post to you.

All colours of the rainbow available. I am sure work could donate the material to the promotion of Traditional Archery in Australia...

Word of mouth is the cheapest, not the fastest but effective.

Just need to be patient. :D

Hello all,
My name is Butch Speer. I live in St. Clair, Missouri, USA. Just found this site the other day while looking at the tradgang site. That was a pretty good way of notifying people. I've also e-mailed all the archers I know. Hopefully they'll pass it on.

Hey Mates! Butch didn't name it but he hit on something that works. If we each one teach one then the word spreads preety fast... as long as your word is good.
Anyway without Butch I wouldn't have ever had a clue you exisisted or even if I had and idea I most likely wouldn't have go surfing just to find you. I am novice with the computer so it is really restricted as to where I'll go without someone leading or showing me the way. Call me a followere but that's the way it is...lol

Glad I found you and I'll share your site with archers I know. Thanks Butch!!

Now go and each one teach one!!
God bless,Mudd

Loyd, Mudd and Butch,

thanks for the words of encouragement, and for dropping by. Looking forward to talking some more with you.

Loyd, there's a couple of good threads about our bow woods in Traditional Tackle.

cheers,

Erron

G'day Loyd, Mudd, Butch and Jerry,

Just wanted to say welcome to the site also. It's a little small at present but if Erron could only find a few more hours in the day I'm sure it will grow. He is doing a great job so far though. Look forward to your input on here. Jeff

G'day Butch,

Good to see ya on here. I guess you got some of Strowies demolition work back in order and got the puter out huh?

Spoke to Hans tonight. He is at Greg's and they are heading out to Roma about 3 in the morning. I've told Greg to tell Hans not to call him beautiful. :D

Yes mate, tell the rest of those TRASHIES to get themselves on here. Jeff
