G'day all

Some very nice looking self/longbows. IHMO there is something very comforting and satisfying for me as a trad archer using a bent stick to fling pointy things at targets without the "encumberances" or "distractions" of modern aids to maintain consistency :)

Happy shooting everyone :)

Hey there,

Here are my bows and the quiver I recently made.

The one on the left is 'Bitey', a 50# Internature Viper 'Deluxe' (deluxe = darker slightly more exotic woods [but realistically no diff from the normal model other than colour]). My first trad bow and a great introduction into the world of traditional archery, I would recommend it to anyone.

The one on the right is my new 60# Martin Savannah longbow. At first I didn't think that more money meant necessarily much better performance in trad bows, but I was wrong. My god, I LOVE this bow! I mean the Viper is lovely and all, and looks a treat, but the work that has gone into the Martin...lovely! One thing too...the Martin shoots exactly where I look and is totally silent! The first time I went out shooting with it I was getting 4" groups at 20m without even trying. I didn't use any special technique (other than good form), I just looked where I wanted the arrow to go and there it went!

I really want a Chekmate next or another Martin...but I'm really happy right now (boy oh boy does the bug bite bad)!

Cheers all,

Leeroy

PS btw would anyone know a bowyer (maybe Yeoman?) who could make me an 80# plus bow?

PPS Stickbow, that is a lovely collection...the photos are very well taken and the bows are gorgeous and look to be very well made, you should be well proud!

Days, when the ball of our vision
Had eagles that flew unabashed to the sun;
When the grasp on the bow was decision,
And arrow and hand and eye were one.

Very nice looking bows.

Here's the one I'm shooting at the moment. There are a couple more in the closet but I just don't have the talent or the time to keep up with them all. Trying to stay a one bow man...
