New guy here on the OZ

#1 Post by Stringmaker » Thu Dec 07, 2006 4:03 am

Hello all,

Tony Cochran here. All the way from Rensselaer, IN USA.

I found the site when referred by "bow donkey" Thanks man!

This is a cool site! It's interesting to see that we all speak the same language when it comes to traditional archery, even if we are located on different continents!

God bless,
Stringmaker

G'day Stringmaker,

Welcome to Ozbow! Great to hear the site is attracting more trad archers from across the sea. I like the look of your strings - nice range of colours. The custom stringing boards are also a nice touch. Hearing more from someone experienced in making Flemish strings will be welcomed.

G'day Tony,

Welcome to the site and I hope you enjoy dropping by and sharing with us on the site.

Have you a photo or two to show us your part of the world and what Trad gear you use.

I enjoyed your site and the links you provided.

We'll see if the picture goes, been having trouble getting things to attach properly.

Out in the woods during a November firearms hunt.

Archer, only 3, wanted to go shoot a deer, but we didn't see anything.
He had fun "blowing the deer call!

This was his first official hunting outing!

What an experience!!

The second photo is of a large white tail that is in the vacinty of my woods, just haven't seen him near my tree stand! This guy just about ran into my car!

G'day.
Great pics.
By comparison, things are a bit dry around this way and winter just gone was one of the poorest on records (for both snow and rain) leaving the countryside tinder-dry. Lotsa smoke from bushfires though.

We probably view your pics of whitetail in the fields close to home as you would ones of the kangaroos we see on the way home from work.

Thanks guys!
Sorry I haven't been around much, things are crazy around here getting everything ready for Christmas.

Yes, Stace, that is frost on the ground! Early November, if I recall correctly!
We still don't have any snow 'round here and it's the end of December! I was really hoping for some snow to hunt in! We have until January 7 to hunt archery season. So there still may be a chance!
There's nothing better than a fresh blood trail in a white blanket of snow!

It's interesting to think about how we see deer all over in my part of the US and in others it may be moose or elk, but in your neck of the woods it's the kangaroos! Interesting comparison!

God bless you all and I'll get some more pics ready to go soon!

Thanks again for the help Stace!
