Hi all. Just sold my clunky horrible metal recurve bow as I haven't shot it for nearly 2 years. I'm thinking of buying a one piece flatbow to go with my ELB. Bearing in mind I'm in the UK would you guys have any suggestions on makes to look out for?
Cheers

G'day Jase,
A lot depends on whether you want a reflex-deflex or traditional flat flatbow, an off-the-shelf or a custom bow.
For range of bows (imports and local) and good advice make the journey down to Wales Archery in Cardiff. They won't try to sell you something you don't want.
Saggitarius are still making traditional flat flat bows i think, they're based in Hampshire or somewhere round there.
A guy down in the Isle of Wight is making reflex-deflex flatbows under the name Dragonfly, I've known quite a few people get bows from him and they all seem happy with them.
Border bows are up north, they make a range of very well respected wood/glass or wood/carbon/glass bows, very fast shooting

Lastly, I know I'm biased but I reckon you can't go past Andy Soars and his Blackbrook bows, based in Loughborough. Very sweet bows to shoot, beautiful finish but easy to scratch and chip when they fall onto hidden rocks . Website's long out of date but you can get his details here

Happy hunting!

I guess it's a trad 'flat' Flatbow I'm after so will have a closer look at Andy's stuff and drop him an email.
Cheers

Jase,
Another page worth looking at for second hand gear, the NFAS small ads. Sometimes someone's selling something interesting...
