Nice photos Dan. 8)

What bow have you got in the photo? Is the knife a Boker?

What sort of camera are you using?

Mick
There is no use focusing on aiming if you don't execute the shot well enough to hit what your are aiming at.

Bow is a Samick shb 1 piece recurve 50# at 28. Yes the knife is a Boker or (tree brand) and i realy like it,might be more utility than skinner but it's good all the same. The camera i am using is a Fuji s 5500, 4 mega pixel, 10x zoom.

They are literally deafening some times but they love those flowers, sometimes i think they get a bit of a kick out of them or something. The trees sort of hang over and next to my verandah so lucky they only come in for about an hour every afternoon. Do you know what kind of bird the other one is, they have very attractive markings, it's one of my favourites along with those tiny yellow eyed wild finch things we get.

Dan,

That other one is common in these parts also. It is a Blue-Faced Honey Eater. Yeah it has no blue on it as it is a young one. It will turn blue with age.

Dan

I've often looked at the Boker or Tree Brand range of knives. I like them. I've owned a Boker filleting knife for many years. They seem to offer good designs, good quality and a reasonable price.

That's the first one piece Samick SHB I've seen up close. Not bad.

Mick
Got my boker of ebay, came dry shaving sharp straight from the box, good balance nice and light( i am a chef and like light knives always have)

It shoots very well for a cheapy. Graham cash had a shot with it the other week and he liked it :D got him hankering for the curve again i think. But everyone who's shot it likes it. It used to have a stick on arrow rest but i didn't like it so i just the other day went back to the shelf.

More traditional

Hey Dan I got an shb same as yours...I like it to...it's a cheapy sure but actually not bad...I reckon they're great starter bows if you've not had a recurve before...like me...
On your arty shot mate, you wanna simplify it a bit...less stuff, less busy....find a good background...a skin maybe or leaves or tree bark....( I used to teach photography  )
I'd love to have a battle of wits with you.....but you appear to be un-armed.....

Thanks hellier will give it a try :) Yes the shb is pretty good, i just bought a samick longbow too, havn't shot it yet, but i have heard some good abought them and some bad. It looks a bit over engineered if you know what i mean, not like the curves which can be a little graceful in some models
