How does one embed images these days?

General discussions. Politics, scuttlebutt, whatever: you're getting married, changing jobs, got a gripe or a compliment, dying to get out with the bow etc.....

How does one embed images these days?

#1 Post by yeoman » Sat Apr 28, 2018 8:15 am

Hi folks,

is it possible to embed images any more? As in, upload to imgur or some such and use code to display the image in a post rather than upload the image direct to Ozbow?

Cheers.

No, due to how the server is configured currently it is not possible,
only way at the moment is to use the upload attachment to upload
the images to our server.

The Ozbow Team prefers that all users do it this way so that if the
image host changes its configuration, goes down or disappears
entirely, the images will not be lost. Ozbow has a fantastic archival
nature to it where all the posts going back to the early days are
available for all to see. Many of the great posts going back through
Ozbow's history rely on images, like build-a-longs or hunting trips
or other events gone by. So its important for us to keep these images
on the sever where they won't "break" due to third party image hosting.

Thank you
