1 a: a number of animals of one kind kept together under human control.

b: a congregation of gregarious wild animals.

2 (1): a group of people usually having a common bond <a herd of tourists>.

(2): a large assemblage of like things.

A herd is a social grouping of certain animals of the same species, either wild or domestic.

The form of collective animal behavior associated with this is referred to as herding.

The first post in that category was Oct 2003 and it has taken someone till Oct 2016 to ask the question. Must be a slow day at Daryl's. :biggrin:

Thank you for pointing that out Grahame, at first I thought 'herd' may have been a play on words and then half of my brain went on walkabout and shortly after the other half of my brain went looking for it, hopefully they will return before dinner.

Not really, I've been trying to calculate the core thickness for a custom Holmegaard style bow and needed a diversion :Bow .
