Shimming take down recurve limbs
Hi I have a bit of a frankenstien recurve made up of samick limbs and a cartel riser. When assembled I noticed that the string failed to come straight down from the tip along the groove thats on the belly of the limbs. I am just getting into trad archery so its not an expensive setup but it did annoy me a bit so I cut some thin lengths of rubber and packed on side of the riser pocket so the limbs move slighly so the string is running perfectly down the centre of the limbs.......is this something that is ok or am I quickly paddling up s**t creek without a paddle. Take pity on me Im a compound shooter thats dabbling in the other end of the pool.

If the limbs and riser [particularly the mounting area] are true in all plains you may have to modify the limb mounting design i.e. installing limb alignment pins. If pins are installed are they the same diameter as the locating holes?grytvikken wrote:............ Some pictures of the limb mounting system may be helpful.
