Rod, I was not aware of his passing away. It was in the early eighties when I first met him at his archery park.

I think he pass away some time at the start of the year.

I had not heard that Bob has Died. He was certainly a character. Many funny memories of Bobs antics and his Personality was vibrant to say the least. Glen Newell, Cliff Turpin and I held many Selfbow Workshops on his Omaru Archery Park Range, he was a good host and I enjoyed his company. I for one am saddened to hear of his passing. He will be remembered fondly

Sad to hear this news - a definite character and pioneer of the Australian Archery scene. Certainly gave me many a giggle, eye roll and face palm moments over the years. I had not thought of him for a few years now but have to admit that I will miss the opportunity to see him again.

I remember him setting fire to the campsite at the first National Safari I ever attended at Stanthorpe. Certainly some exciting moments can be done without.

Cheers

I also had not heard of his passing. Condolences to his family. As has been said, Bob was a real character and deserves recognition for his valuable input to Bowhunting in Australia. He most certainly has a place in our Australian Bowhunting History.

I remember that Magazine, my copy is long gone. Troy, [ Chasin Nocks ] do you still have your copy ?

Another Mate has Bobs Video, the name escapes me right now - unintentionly one of the funniest Video's I have ever seen. I might ask for a loan of the Tape and sit and remember some good Days.

Now that you mention it Perry I vaguely remember seeing that video. It would be good to get it copied to another media so it isn't lost.

Attached link in local paper about Bob Doring.

I bought my first Recurve Bow off Bob when he had his shop at Beerwah about 1982 and still have it, 60lbs Damon howatt Coronado.
Still have a worn copy of his Magazine, good content . All of his shop bows were up for sale a few months ago.
Definitely a real character.
