Polaris riser with sage limbs question.

General discussions. Politics, scuttlebutt, whatever: you're getting married, changing jobs, got a gripe or a compliment, dying to get out with the bow etc.....

Polaris riser with sage limbs question.

#1 Post by grytvikken » Wed Jun 01, 2016 5:25 pm

Hi I am very new to trad archery been a compound shooter for years. I am 190 cm tall and have a long 30 inch draw with a compound. I am looking at getting a samick polaris 24 inch riser and fitting samaick sage limbs to it.....around 35 to 40 pounds as I dont want to over bow myself at this stage. My question is would the polaris riser cope with 40+ pound limbs and would the fact that the polaris riser is 24 inches and the sage is around 19 have an effect on the holding weight at full draw as compared to a standard bow with a sage riser. If it does would it increase or decrease the weight at full draw. I am doing this so I can get a 66 inch bow and I am assuming that this would help with both finger pinch and stacking......is this the case? I was looking at getting a set of journey limbs but have had no luck sourcing them
Any advice gratefully recieved. David
