What say you ?

What say you ?

#1 Post by bigbob » Thu Jul 09, 2015 7:21 pm

Finally got the wheels in motion for a long awaited knee replacement operation. Given the option and various odds on outcomes I have elected to have both done simultaneously to have it all over in one go. All the talk among friends seems to be that no body they know has had a great outcome from this procedure. I really need some re assuring from people who have either had this op. or have first hand knowledge of those who have, and had successful outcomes and increased mobility.I already have any quantity of nay sayers! Reassurance please!

My father had his done about 2 1/2 years ago and he is like a new man.
My brother in law has just had his right knee done he is a plumber and recons he is about 90% back to normal. So all is not bad.
Best of luck.

A few Weeks back I went Hunting with Glen Newell, he's had his Knee's done in the last little while. I cant recall the last time I saw him moving so freely. To be honest it was strange to see him moving so well ! He was still in some discomfort and was careful in what he did but he was streets ahead of how he was before his Operations. All the best Bob, I hope its all positive for for you

Thanks for your responses, Stu, Roadie and Perry. They were just what I needed after some of my mates have been hitting me with horror stories about botched outcomes.Whether I will have both done simultaneously is now another matter, but look forward to a time when I can get around a range without painkillers.

I have heard lots and lots of positives and seen good results. The key will be in how seriously you take the rehab which is vital to a positive outcome.

Hi Bob, Hooray, finally your in. Yes, I have a friend who had BOTH knees done at once about 2 years ago. She has come out of it really well and is walking so well now. The big issue is the immobility period initially.
I can get her to ring you about it if you like as then you can ask any questions you want.
I'am off on a cruise tomorrow (Saturday) for a week. But if you PM me your mobile, I will get her to ring you.

Regards,

Ian
