New Member: Thought I'd introduce myself.

General discussions. Politics, scuttlebutt, whatever: you're getting married, changing jobs, got a gripe or a compliment, dying to get out with the bow etc.....

New Member: Thought I'd introduce myself.

#1 Post by Bago » Fri Jul 04, 2014 7:27 pm

Hey Guys thought i better make my first post an introduction of myself. My name is Luke "Bago" Bagnall. I'm 28 and from Shellharbour which is located 30 mins south of Wollongong NSW. I've been hunting for many years now with firearms and have given bow hunting abit of a go in the last year. I've only really shot compound bows and now I'm starting to really want to get into traditional. I don't have a traditional bow yet but have been keen to get an old recurve or longbow to have a go at some targets and join my local club and do some 3d archery before I start hunting. I'm very interested in how bows are made and love taking on home DIY projects so very keen to give bow making a crack.

Anyway that's just abit about me. Thanks Guys

Bago

Hi Bago welcome aboard, looks like you've definatly found the right place. What type of bow did you have in mind to eventually have a crack at making?

Thanks c moore! I'm thinking I'd like to have a go at making a longbow. There are probably alot of different names for different styles of longbows lol but one that is the same style as the Fred Bear longbows.

Welcome to the site Luke. I'm sure you will find a lot of info on here regarding making a longbow. If you have questions don't be afraid to just ask as folks on here are only too glad to help out where they can.
