Here we go again

#1 Post by Flatliner » Fri Apr 11, 2014 12:20 am

Battening the hatches once again  . Will probably loose the power, water, phone and of course the internet Friday evening some time,,,, exciting times ahead. Cyclones are one of the few things I dislike about the tropics.

See you on the other side  .

Thanks for your thoughts guys, it looks like it may take a little longer to get down this way, now they are saying Saturday some time. I think those in Cooktown are feeling it at the moment, hope they have prepared well and are safe.

Cheers Rob.

Wish you well mate, but I reckon you are battle hardened to this over time.

keep your heads down, to all our North Qld ozbowers and friends.

They were talking about the cyclone crossing the coast Cairns to Cooktown on whatever night. The following night it was Cooktown to somewhere later yesterday afternoon, then this morning they said between Cape Melville and Cape Tribulation and sometime later this afternoon. I was having my first coffee when I heard the report this morning and said to Steve, "typical woman, can't make up her mind"

Take care.

Good luck Rob, looks like its winding down quickly, lets hope it keeps that trend going. Be safe.

Yeah looks like we may have dodged a bullet once again  .
Cairns has been very lucky for a long time now, hope the streak continues till well after I'm gone.
At the moment we are getting a ship load of rain and wind gusts to about 80 knots, nothing to worry about, the trees still have their leaves on, which is a good sign  .
