G'day
Hi I'm Steve, hence the screen name
I first got into archery as a 13 yr old and shot an old Ben Pearson compound barebow and instinctive for a few years. I "upgraded" and got a new bow and added a sight and used that for a few years. That was until I got my firearms licence and I gave up bows and hunted with firearms. Thing is I missed shooting a bow. So 10 years after I gave up archery I decided I'd get back into it. With one difference. I would go recurve this time around.
So I did a bit of looking around at recurves and tested out a few, some were okay some were just plain horrible to shoot, I kept looking and then I found the Hoyt Buffalo. I fired it once and thought WHOA that was pretty sweet. I fired a few ends out of it and loved it so I bought it and a doz shafts on the spot. SWEET.
Then I went away for work for 6 months......Now I'm back I've got a shooting lane set up at home and every afternoon I shoot a few ends. Its starting to come back to me I've improved a lot in a week even and I look forward to actually getting to know a few guys from the local club and picking their brains for hints tricks and tips. I'm a jube when it comes to bow tuning and I know it. So any pointers you guys can give me will also be great.

Yeah I'll be checking out the 3DAAA club at Ripley in the new year. It's in the same place as the rifle range I use so it makes life easy for me

G'day Steve,
Welcome to Ozbow. Lots of good fellas and good information here.
The other club Bob might be thinking of is the 3DAAA club at Ripley outside Ipswich.
It is down in the gully a bit on the right about 200m before you get to the SSAA club.
I have not shot at the archery club yet so can't give a review of the place, Guess I will have to give it a try in 2014.
Cheers
