2013 trad bowhunting goals

General discussions. Politics, scuttlebutt, whatever: you're getting married, changing jobs, got a gripe or a compliment, dying to get out with the bow etc.....

I am pretty happy with my progress but if anything I would like to get one of the bigger Boars that I keep spooking out of their beds. Perhaps also a Fallow deer if thats not being greedy  . Cheers Steve

As per 2012...to take my first longbow pig. Fingers are all crossed for this year!
The best trophies I can hope to acquire as a husband, father, friend or hunter are MEMORIES!
They will travel with me wherever life's path leads...

Yep... My 2013 bowhunting goals are to take a fallow buck in this years rut... The only thing I don't know is what bow I'm going to use to do so.... I'm thinking the Huntsman, but I would love to do it with a bamboo backed longbow... 8)

I also have a few bows coming this year... So blooding them will be a priority too...!

Cheers Guy..
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is no where as important as being able to place it in the correct spot....!

Just have fun flinging arrows at targets, stumps and ferals.

I think for me this year, there shall be no bowhunting goals
I have a very busy year ahead (work & Life) & things are going to be very lean to say the best for me this year.

I owe it to the Gladstone Bowhunters club who elected me their president this year  to devote the best part of my time there making sure I give it my best.

So I think this year will be more just enjoying the bow & the people I share it with. Hunting will take a back seat until things are back on the straight & narrow..... but hey, you never know whats around the next turn

Shooters get to 50m to shoot, but only a hunter gets inside 20m to hunt.

I just want to get a good boar that I have to work for, and not just get lucky like all my kills so far.
Lately, if life were treating me any better, I'd be suspicious of it's motives!

If I can get 2 decent Boars I will be happy.

But a fallow deer now that would be something.

well I started 2013 at my hunting spot so I'm already one step ahead.the last few years slackshot aka gaz and myself have had it pretty sweet for hunting trips so I hope it going to continue again this year. We have a few new hunters in our ranks this year so I will be looking forward to spending some quality time sharing their new experiences while they are trying to take the first of many species.

My Trad bowhunting goals for 2013, Simply Get Hunting!..... 10years of trad archery and never a fruitful bowhunt.... 90% of my hunts have been skittish rabbits, and when they run at 70mtrs you can't get much of a shot :(.
To fire one lonesome arrow,
At thou's only beating heart.
To pierce thy flesh,
to kill this beast.
Tis the hunters sacred art.
