Metric/imperial conversion site
Colleagues
Here is a link that some may find useful - I've tried a few converters but this one is about the simplest to use - and I am an interweb gumby and speak with great experience:

No worries JEff
And for those that like to do things the old-ish fashioned way I took the liberty of creating a ready reckoner. OK - it is not an exel thang that calculates stuff, but you just read from left to right. I've printed one out and laminated it for the workshop wall.

You can also type what you want into Google like this:
0.040 inches in mm
or
19/32 inches in mm
0.040 inches in mm
or
19/32 inches in mm
Re: Metric/imperial conversion site
an easy way to convert imperial to metric is for exp 1/2" divide 1 by 2 which gives you your decimal than multiply that by 25.4, if you want to go imperial you devide by 25.4 wich will give you the imperial decimal.
Just another thought for everyone.

OK Folks, I still use imperial, Yards, Feet & inches, and I still refer to Miles per Gallon. Yes I know I am an Ole Fart, but it works for me. And I still have some OLD bottles with 1/2 Gallon and 1 Gallon on them. How many of us remember the Pint Glass and the Yard Glass of Beer. Cheers Roadie.

Re: Metric/imperial conversion site
I stopped using my Pint glasses these days Grant I drink a bit slower and my beer gets to be Kimberly cool at the end after a few Schooies I drop back to pots for the same reason. If you google there are calculators and tables for just about any conversion you can think of even $ AUD to Bongo bucks you never even heard of
If your not having fun, your doing it for all the wrong reasons

Re: Metric/imperial conversion site
Technology can be your friend.
I too am getting into the 'old fartedness' stage of life but even I have (gulp!) an iPhone. Download the free app called Units - Free Unit Converter.
Just pop in a measurement (weight, volume, length, distance, etc, etc, etc) and it immediately gives conversions into a whole range of units. e.g. put in weight in kilos and it will give you pounds, ounces, grams, grains, stone, dram, carat, etc
Cheers, T
