2013 Archery Alliance Expo, etc.

#1 Post by GrahameA » Thu Sep 20, 2012 10:24 am

Hi All.

The Archery Alliance Expo and Banquet will be in Brisbane next year.
Saturday 23 & Sunday 24 February 2013
Belmont Sporting Complex, 1485 Old Cleveland Road, Belmont

There will also be an Archery Comp.

AND THERE IS A TRADITIONAL DIVISION
Traditional is for longbows in all shapes and sizes (within reason) and include all the ABA traditional divisions. The Tournament Director will have the final say on whether or not it fits into the spirit of the Traditional Division.
Note: You will get an opportunity to shoot both Field and Target.

This an opportunity for South East Qld/Northern NSW Trad Archers to get together and if you enter the shoot to showcase the Trad' Archers. Consider this an opportunity to star in another OzBow Photo Fest.

I think John McDonald is coming up and I have pleaded to carry his toolbox. We could add an element of State of Origin to the trad division if there are enough Cockroaches coming up. If not we would make do with Mexicans and others further south.

Look forward to this.

Thanks Grahame,

Awesome. I could not see anything about camping? Would you know off hand or should I drop a line to the organisers?

Cheers

Thanks Grahame,
Will be there .Catch up with you soon.
Kevin- booked and paid for.
Perhaps a Trad sponsored team or two.?
Troy- I think the accommodation/camping comes under the Qld Rifle Association.

Great thanks John.

I will see you there. Dinner and event paid for just now, I don't want to miss out.

Called Perry to spread the goss and he was keen. I intend to get there the Friday and be there for the meet and greet. Might have a new bow by then

Grahame I notice no shooting is planned for the Sunday. Who do we chat to to organize a flight round

Cheers

Well......

I am not aware of the parking arrangements but I would suggest that there may be a few cars on part of the Rifle Range which may cause a few issues.

However, since you are/were a member of Samford (formerely Grange) Grange Target Archers Brian via AA or Neil via 3DAA.

hi, i'm thinking of getting to this one. it's only a few hours away from home.

as i'm not familiar with the site of the event, or even with brisbane, i'd like to ask whether there is any onsite accomodation or camping or any available nearby?

thanks and have a good weekend.

Queensland Rifle association is very near and has all sorts of very economical accommodation as well as camping facilities plus a bar that operates Fri Sat nights from memory.

I received the receipt for my nomination / Feed on Thursday, took ages. I'm sure details will be forthcoming, just gotta be patient. There is probably an overworked volunteer tearing their Hair out trying to Catch Up

Perry, not at the hair pulling stage. I am mainly unhappy that there is no contact on the application form for either phone or email and perhaps there should be. Anyway all archery is run by volunteers. I am quite used to such delays but taking around six weeks to process something like this is pretty bad by any standard. I would perhaps expect that sort of thing if there were huge numbers nominated. Presently that does not appear to be the case. What do you do if the form has gone astray and it gets very close to the shoot date? Perhaps those in charge might advise potential customers to expect inordinate delays if that is the case. In the overall scheme of things it is not the end of the world, just ordinary. For every written complaint there are normally others who have not. That can detract from a shoot.

I am looking forward to this shoot and expect it to be a lot of fun.
