A Merry Game
Using Google, find out the number 1 hit single for the day in the year you were born, find the clip on YouTube and post it here.
Mine is The Minute You're Gone - Cliff Richard and the Shadows.

Re: A Merry Game
Of course I should have mentioned it has to be the number one in the country you were born - I am a pommy b*stard, hence Cliff. Had I been one of you dreadful colonials then it would have been Rock n Roll Music/Honey Don't by The Beatles...

Apparently the No. 1 hit when I was born was "I'm a believer" by the Monkees, but that appals me, so your getting the great Lobby Loyde instead... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxQMuTiaL7g
I have flat out LOVED this song since I was about 5!

Re: A Merry Game
Not me Digger - it is the unfortunate association drawn between banjos and hillbilly man-love as demonstrated in Deliverance that, for some reason, is always evoked when I play the damn thing - folk go "reeeeeeeee, squeal like a pig boy!". They are more to be pitied than scorned.kerry wrote:looseplucker wrote:Lobby LLoyd - More like Status Quoit

Quite frankly I am not the one with the problem.
I cannot answer for the avatar. I refer all queries to my colleague, Mr Hazard of Texas Heart Shot Artists Inc.

Move over young 'uns.
In the US:
"Music! Music! Music!" Teresa Brewer - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NY-L-NurhX8
In Australia:
"Forever And Ever" Perry Como - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=az9aNJJ3y5M
One advantage of being so old is that I got to see Lobby Loyde in the Wild Cherries, with Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs, and with the Coloured Balls - including live at Sunbury Pop in '73 with a stage pass!

Man, you've GOT to write up a story on that, Alan, especially Sunbury!!alaninoz wrote:Move over young 'uns.

He really helped the Aztecs change their sound, hey? Much meatier once Lobby briefly joined! Here's a rare clip of him rehearsing with the Aztecs (with apologies to Looseplucker...no more hijacking with irrelevant posts in the this thread, I promise! )
