A Trad weekend-Or kids, arrows and a tournament (pic heavy)

A Trad weekend-Or kids, arrows and a tournament (pic heavy)

#1 Post by g_r » Mon Dec 12, 2011 5:31 am

Hi,

just wanted to share some pics of my Trad weekend. Archery can be a social thing, and is best enjoyed with people you like....

1.Passing on the flame
Saturday noon started with me and my girlfriend taking her two godchildrens shooting. We organized some kids bows and arrows, a backstop and a Teddy and really had a lot of fun.

The coolest thing for them was to shoot my 600 + grain arrows, though they were dropping like stones

2.Filling the armoury
Over the last year ive organised used bows and euipment for 5 friends and they are hooked. Now it was time for new, individual arrows, so we met at a buddys mancave and i showed them how to build their own arrows. Everyone was very proud of their first selfmade ones and the fun was priceless....

Fletch them and wind the fathers if you want

AND most importantly, present them in an unusual way  ....

The two weirdest ones (it was quite late  )

3. Go afield and enjoy
Sunday morning saw me and my girlfriend (after far too less sleep) on a one hour drive to a small "traditional" only 3D shoot.
It was a great day with fine weather, pleasant company and challenging shots in beautiful surroundings.

The last shot and my best for the day (blue pink arrow)

Not wanting to blow my own horn, but in the end i was second best with the LB

I guess all i wanted to say was "enjoy youre journey"!
Thanks for looking

Axel

Rod,
yepp, its that time of year again....but temps are still around 0°C so not to cold.

Roadie,
i live only 60 km south of Wuerzburg, Rothenburg o.T perhaps you heard bout it?

Jeff,
you may be right about about that there wasnt only arrow maing going on, but at least that was the reason we met that day  And believe me, nothing gets the smell of glue faster out of youre nose and mouth then a gin with tonic

About that fashio statement, ive already made her a hairneedle out of a skinny carbon with ultra narrow fletchings, will try to show a pic soon.
watch youre feet, you may never know where they might take you....
