short end of the stick

General discussions. Politics, scuttlebutt, whatever: you're getting married, changing jobs, got a gripe or a compliment, dying to get out with the bow etc.....

Well you did say you might be going up there mate but a bit more warning wouldn't have hurt. You should try and catch up with Steve and Ruth Whiting while your up there and also I think a couple of the fellas on here are from around there so they drop in here and work out a meet.

Not too bad up there, Hilly so you should enjoy it. Jeff, your mention of Ruth and Steve whiting brings back memories. Havent seen either for probably more than 20 years.Do they still shoot?

Better grab hold of a post and hang on Hilly judging by the rain your getting up that way. You'll be able to chuck a line out in your backyard.

Gidday Hilly,

Welcome to Townsville. It's not all bad mate, the weather has been pretty mild so far and the flies haven't come out in numbers yet  I hope your stay doesn't get over-extended by the wet conditions, it looks like a very early start to the wet season again this year.

Which day do you get off Hilly, it would be good to meet and have a yarn. Sorry I don't have any prospects for hunting going on. I can scan the Townsville District Bowhunters shoot calendar and send it to you. if you have Sundays free I'm sure you'd be welcome out there. I'm not shooting at all at the moment because of a neck muscle (trapezius?) strain injury but hopefully will be over it soon, its a bloody pain in the neck

Send us a pm mate and we can sort something out.

Cheers......... Rod
