Introducing Myself

General discussions. Politics, scuttlebutt, whatever: you're getting married, changing jobs, got a gripe or a compliment, dying to get out with the bow etc.....

Introducing Myself

#1 Post by stickbow » Wed Aug 24, 2011 6:43 pm

Hi, John Addington here. Im new and thought i would introduce myself. I shoot a Bigjim Thunderchild longbow and have been shooting trad for 15 years. I live in the south island New Zealand and look forward to reading about Aussie trad hunting. :D

Welcome to Ozbow John; I hope you enjoy visiting here. Do you do any bowhunting over there?

I do a bit of hunting with the bow. Not as much with the rifle anymore. My last bow was stolen out of my van over the roar in april. Thats the third bruin bow i had stolen. I decided to try my luck with another bowyer...lol. Goin for a twelve day trip in the first week of april for thar and chamois. So do you guys get to shoot many critters over there. I see on these forums people shooting camels and buffalo. Wow that would be awesome with a trad bow.

Three bows stolen; yikes!!! :x Well it seems you do a lot of bowunting; have you got any photos from your trips as we all like seeing photos of other Bowhunters back yards? :D Pigs and goats are probably hunted mostly plus deer and smaller game. Hunting buff or camels is a long run for most of us on here.
