OK - he got his clarinet and went busking. I had no issue with that, until I saw the sign he had made......then he showed me he was raking it in hand over fist.
....so I left him to it.
And no, I didn't get a Guinness out of it either.

Hah! Playing the sympathy card, then rorting the nominated charity! He'll end up a business tycoon, that boy!
Lately, if life were treating me any better, I'd be suspicious of it's motives!

He had just shoved about ten bucks into a busker's wallet (spare sock). Never a good look to have the crowd know your'e doing well. A few 5c pieces as berley is all you need.

Hmm, might be a chance to salvage something here, in lue of the Guinness you didn't get. If you can convince him to get the Lego Technic set you can make a pretty good crester with it!
