arrow carnage

General discussions. Politics, scuttlebutt, whatever: you're getting married, changing jobs, got a gripe or a compliment, dying to get out with the bow etc.....

Mate, smashed arrows are all part of it. Most of mine get smashed on rocks and the like from missing, at least yours are from good shots! :)
Lately, if life were treating me any better, I'd be suspicious of it's motives!

Learn to shoot in between the arrows. Or only shoot one arrow at each target.

shoot to shoot groups where you slide your arrows in next to the others. I practice this on a bare butt. Helps you to pick an aiming point and to be able to adjust in small increments.

If you shoot into a firm butt the arrows if tuned well and shot well should not hang in different angles where a lot of damage can occur. Sloppy butts / soft butts end up causing problems. Shooting woods at targets that roll around or move around is sure to cut arrows or split them mid length and behind the point. You quickly learn that that isa waste of a good arrow.

I can relate to breaking arrows. since taking up archery I feel like I have lost and broken more than I have made, must be time to make a few more....
But again I don't have any picks, I will work on it tomorrow :)

I actually shoot at 4-5 tennis balls but not with a bare butt I choose to leave my trousers on.
