Christmas Competition!!!
This book was published in 1999 and I had the privilege of assisting with its editing and this copy is from my personal library.
The late Kevin Whiting was one of Australia’s most influential Bowhunters. He was largely responsible for not only having bowhunting recognized and accepted as an effective and humane way of hunting but also as a legitimate recreational activity.
This book is not just about Kevin as it also covers information on the formation of the Australian Bowhunters Association and a number of the early Bowhunting clubs. There are some great hunting stories from back in those times as well.
Kevin wrote for the Shooters Journal during the mid 1970’s and and those articles have been reprinted in this book.
There is a section that covers the making of your own Spine Jig, Spine Selector Chart and more.
This book may not be the flashiest looking publication around but it more than makes up for that with what is printed within its pages.
This book is Australian Bowhunting History and would be a great addition to any Bowhunters library.
----------------------------------------------
So, how do you get to add this great book to your library? The answer is, very easily!
All you have to do is start a thread in the Ozbow Campfires forums between today the 20th of November and midnight on the 18th of December 2013. Your name will then go into the draw to win this book.
The winner’s name will be drawn and announced on the 19th of December.
Get posting!!!

Mate, what a prize! I'll be starting many a thread, Jeff!
Lately, if life were treating me any better, I'd be suspicious of it's motives!
Re: Christmas Competition!!!
One book that should be in every trad shooter's library. Thanks Jeff for making it available to one lucky Ozbower.

No as that wouldn't be appropriate for any of the forums.LB rod 55 wrote:So writing about a pimple on my but would be ok

Re: Christmas Competition!!!
So is it a case of you get a "ticket" in the draw for each new thread you create between now and midnight 18th December?
Or is it limited to just one "ticket" in the draw per user, regardless of how many new threads they create before December 18th?
Have had an idea for a new thread brewing on the back burner for the last couple of weeks - time to bung it up I'm thinking!
Cheers!
P.S. I like the bit on the bottom right of the cover that attributes the copyright to "Mrs Whiting". No actual name, just "Mrs Whiting". Strikes me as a little bit humourous..

But what if he posted a pic of a pimple on his butt in the "Photography" forum, and wrote about how he took it? Technically, that should fit the context of that forum wouldn't it?Stickbow Hunter wrote:No as that wouldn't be appropriate for any of the forums.LB rod 55 wrote:So writing about a pimple on my but would be ok

Mind you I don't think I could stomach looking at it - maybe if the camera was set on "Macro" and the photo was taken from 100 kilometres away I just might be able to handle it..... maybe

Yeah mate a ticket in the draw for each thread started.Sleepy wrote:So is it a case of you get a "ticket" in the draw for each new thread you create between now and midnight 18th December?
That would never fit the context of any forum technically or otherwise. The world just ain't ready for such a horrid sight.Sleepy wrote:But what if he posted a pic of a pimple on his butt in the "Photography" forum, and wrote about how he took it?
