My new forge...
Here are some pics of the new solid fuel forge I just got finished on its first fire up.It is a little ripper and got the spike hot enough in just a few minutes butr the air blast from the hair drier is a bit much so I will have to dampen it down a bit on the w/end.I got the cabinet at the dump for 30 bucks and another 20 for the pipe pieces.Plus a free brake drum.It will be getting fire proof pavers on the top to make it flat also down the track a bit.

Re: My new forge...
Good job well done, even the old Steptoe would be proud of such a great effort.

Thanks guys.I think it was one of the cabinets that they have in hospitals as it has a stainless top.I love going to the dump shop like others like bunnings but the misses keeps telling me to take stuff with me for a change. She just doesnt understand me.

Great stuff Kim. I found a magazine mid last year called "the Backwoodsman" and each issue it publishes little how too's such as how to make your own forge using a hairdryer and a brake drum or Knives from old sheep shears etc. Wonderfull to see a scrounged forge.
